Medical Care

Prevention

  • Cancer screening annually for men over 45 years
  • Health check between the ages of 18 and 34 years once in a lifetime. From the age of 35 a health check is possible once every 3 years.
  • Skin cancer screening from the age of 35 once every 2 years
  • Health examination according to the youth employment protection law up to the age of 18. You can get the authorisation forms from the Residence Registration Office
  • Youth Health Surveillance between the ages of 11 and 14 years
  • Preventive Health Screening for children

Services not Covered by the Public Health Insurance

Numerous consultations, examinations and treatments are not covered by the public health insurance. These include stress ECG, pulmonary function test, additional health checks, PSA laboratory test related to men’s health check, driver’s licence, travel vaccinations, investigation of physical fitness, infusions, medical certificates and consultations related to nutrition. The public health insurance pays for these services only if they are necessary and related to an acute illness. The fee is calculated according to the official medical tariff (GOÄ) and is paid by the patient.
