Academic Teaching and Research Practice of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt

We are an academic teaching practice of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. We provide placements for senior medical students so they can experience general medicine in a practical care setting.

What does “Doctor in Specialist Training” mean?

Further training as a specialist in general medicine lasts five years, of which at least two years must be spent working in a GP training practice. After all, the typical activities of a GP cannot be learned at a hospital, but only in general practice. For this reason, young colleagues in our practice who want to become a specialist in general medicine are also prepared for their future occupation before completing their training.

They are fully qualified doctors and often already have several years of professional experience. Before they can open their own practices, they get the opportunity to expand their knowledge and abilities here.

As specialists in general medicine, we also want to ensure even better outpatient care in future and therefore take great pleasure in training qualified general practitioners.

At the Kranichstein General Practice, we have already trained 32 specialists in general medicine.

Dear Patients, you naturally have the freedom to choose any doctor in our practice. Please let reception know which doctor you would like to be treated by.
